Art From Awareness™ is very much about taking a unique approach to art education. Even in large groups, I believe it is important to not only convey principles to the group, but to interact with each individual, as each individual sees things differently. Every person has their own way of learning, and in my classes, I understand and encourage this.
Whether you are a teacher looking for an artist in residence, a museum looking to start an arts education program, or a gallery that wants to start up an artist workshop, I can set up a class room to suit the needs of any sized group of any age. In addition, art can be a huge hit at parties, which is why I offer fun and entertaining art projects for parties and events.

"Last year I was looking for a drawing instructor to teach a few non-credit classes for Marquette students and a friend of mine, who teaches at MIAD, recommended Jeff. Since that time, I have hired Jeff many times to teach classes at the Haggerty Museum and I have been delighted with the outcome of every class. Jeff is extremely reliable, resourceful and amiable…and he’s an excellent teacher. The Marquette students have thoroughly enjoyed the classes and have learned a great deal. I will definitely ask Jeff to teach at the Haggerty again next semester."

As a teacher, I am most concerned with what a student is interested in, not necessarily what I am interested in. The fun of teaching art is to see a person run with a realization they have had, and make their own discoveries within the process. The way I like to teach is to instruct them on how to draw using pastels and charcoal. My first goal is to create an environment where the students can relax! After that, I work with each student individually to help them see something new in their drawing process.
